Emiliano De Cristofaro
De Cristofaro’s research connects cryptographic tools to practical privacy problems, including collaborative threat mitigation and machine-learning systems.
Emiliano De Cristofaro is a computer-security and privacy researcher and professor at the University of California, Riverside. His work addresses privacy-preserving technologies, applied cryptography, and the ways contemporary data-driven systems affect privacy.
Privacy-preserving collaboration
His work includes approaches for collaborative predictive blacklisting and other forms of data sharing that retain security benefits while limiting disclosure. This is a recurring engineering problem in threat intelligence and network defense.
Research leadership
Before joining UC Riverside, he worked at UCL, where he directed an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research and headed the Information Security Research Group.
