Sushil Jajodia

Jajodia helped establish security research as an enduring academic program while contributing to access control, secure databases, vulnerability analysis, and adaptive defense. His work shows the field's progression from protection models to operational cyber defense.

Sushil Jajodia is a computer-security and privacy researcher at George Mason University. He founded the Center for Secure Information Systems (CSIS) and has worked across access control, multilevel secure databases, vulnerability analysis, cyber defense, cloud security, and steganography.

Research and institution building

Jajodia's record combines technical research with the development of a long-running academic center for security. He was founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of Computer Security and has held professional-service roles across the field.

Adaptive defense

His later work includes methods for understanding vulnerabilities and defenses in changing environments. This makes his career useful for tracing a line from classic information-security models to more adaptive approaches to cyber defense.
